GTBank Principals’ Cup Semis Begin

The semi-finals of the on-going 2013 edition of the GTBank- Lagos State Principals Cup competition will kick-off Thursday at the Onikan Stadium, Lagos with four schools slugging it out for a place in the finals in both the boys and girls categories of the championship.

The preliminary stage of the tournament kicked off with 313 Schools from the 20 education zones of Lagos State after which they proceeded to the district finals where 24 male and female teams qualified for the state draws.

Teams were drawn into groups and the winners in each group qualified for the quarter finals.

The pairings for the female category of this year’s semi-finals are: CMS Girls Grammar School playing against Government Senior College and Ikotun Senior High School locking horns with Jubilee Senior Model.

The male category will feature Oriwu Senior Model College against Ogunmodede Senior College and Keke High School will also take on LABASCO High School.

The ultimate prize of N1million will be won by the winning male and female teams while the first, second and third runners up will receive N750,000, N500,000 and N250, 000 respectively.

Guaranty Trust Bank will also provide sporting equipment such as balls, goal post nets and corner flags throughout the duration of the competition.
