IMO STATE GOVERNMENT HOUSE, OWERRI
PRESS RELEASE
OGUTA RERUN POLL: OKOROCHA RAISES ALARM OVER PDP MOVES TO MANIPULATE RESULT

...Says APGA victory irreversible

Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has raised the alarm over a
perceived attempt by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to collaborate
with the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) and
manipulate the result of the Oguta assembly seat rerun election which
clearly has the candidate of the All Progressives Grand
Alliance(APGA), Hon. Walter Uzonwanne as the winner.

The governor, who addressed newsmen in government house, described the
declaration of the election 'inconclusive' as slap on the democracy
and  another wicked move to subvert the mandate Oguta people gave to
the APGA candidate in the last Saturday rerun election.
Describing the development as totally unacceptable by the government
and people of Imo state, Gov. Okorocha, urged INEC  to uphold its
integrity by announcing the result as duly collated and released by
its returning officer, Dr. Cynthia Oguike to avoid facing the wrath of
the people.

The governor submitted that election in Oguta has become
dramatic as it is the very first time people of the area are having
the liberty of exercising the right of electing their representative.
" It is a common knowledge that for so many years, no actual election
has taken place in Oguta. It has always been a one-man show  which has
continued to keep the people  in bondage. This government is
determined to ensure that the people of Oguta is liberated from the
clutches of these evil men that parade themselves as leaders.
Governor Okorocha further posited that now the people of Oguta, Imo state
and by extension Nigeria have risen to their responsibility to
ensure that democracy is practiced in the area, INEC should be fair
enough to ensure that justice and fairness prevail.
While expressing  disappointment with the manner PDP has continued to
handle democracy in the country with particular reference to Oguta
state
constituency election, Gov. Okorocha regretted that democracy which
was fought for by all and sundry and with many loosing their lives,
is at the verge of being destroyed by the ruling party, adding that if
the ugly situation is not checkmated, it would certainly rubbish the
integrity the Independent
National Election Commission (INEC) had built for itself after the
2011 elections.
The governor also condemned the manner in which some chieftains of the PDP
in Imo state based in Abuja paraded themselves with heavily armed
security escorts  with the intention of rigging the election.

He also acknowledged that the election was peaceful despite the harassment
that the All progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) members suffered in the
hands of PDP, pointing out that their excesses stemmed from the fact
that they control  power at the national level.

Gov. Okorocha pointed out that the results released by INEC and signed
by its returning officer, Dr. Cynthia Oguike shows that APGA
candidate, Hon. Walter Uzonwanne is leading with 9,595 votes from 121
polling
booths out of 129 in Oguta state constituency while the PDP candidate, Chief
Eugene Dibiagwu polled 7,7584votes.
While appealing to Imo people to remain calm and law-abiding, Gov. Okorocha
called on INEC to maintain their hard earned integrity and announce the
result without further delay.

OGA AT THE TOP ONCE AGAIN STALLED DECLARATION OF RESULT OF OGUTA RE-RUN ELECTIONS BY INEC
...GOV. OKOROCHA CALL ON INEC TO DECLARE APGA CANDIDATE WINNER

It is becoming clearer that the Oguta House of Assembly re-run election has been won and lost but the declaration of result by INEC ran into hitch when Oga at the top called in for whatever pecuniary interest his party may have had to protect in that election.

Governor Okorocha, earlier today addressed a press conference where he decried the miscarriage of justice by the ruling party through the arm twisting of the INEC Commissioner, Dr. Oko who could not continue with the announcement of the result at the reception of a call of the Oga at the top. However, Governor Okorocha recalled the same experience he had during the Guber election where the announcement of Election was stalled as well for a call by one Oga at the top.

The election in Oguta witnessed the presence of the PDP Abuja based politicians guarded by heavily armed men harassing and violating Oguta people's rights thereby disenfranchising them from exercising their right to vote their choice leaders. To make real their threat to win at all cost, the former Speaker of House of Assembly under Ikedi Ohakim, Goodluck Opia, in a show of shame, went to the Local Governments with his barrage of thugs, seeming uniformed men whether real or unreal either to hijack the materials and also cause disaffection against the people of Oguta. He failed due to the determination of a people who were ready to change their sordid past of slavery to freedom. Again the same man appeared in Osemotor ward but the people resisted them.

It could also be recalled that prior the election, one of the editions of Sunday Independent had reported the plan of the ruling party to flood Oguta with ex militants and Boko Haram insurgents. It came out that Opia was the leader of the group prepared to unleash mayhem in Oguta. Again, in Izombe, one of the APGA agents was locked up in his house and was guarded with heavy armed men who threatened him to remain indoors while they PDP had the field day. These were the confirmation of the alarmed raised by APGA. Hope Uzodinma had also threatened fire and brimstone but again the people's wish in their Will prevailed.

Governor Okorocha again said that had APGA scored like PDP with two thousand deficit, the winner would have been returned without much ado. He however revealed that the APGA candidate must be declared winner in the sense that out of 209 polling booths, only 8 were cancelled. And going by the number of electorate that turned out, it follows that the percentage of the expected electorate in the remaining wards will be infinitesimal. Meanwhile Governor Okorocha argued, now that the result had been written, signed and announced by the returning officer of the constituency, where would INEC now add their so called result that will come out from the expected supplementary being canvassed. He further expressed irritation for PDP's penchant for doing the abnormal with intention of rigging themselves in.

It is also on record that this will be the fourth election that had taken place in Oguta in this tenure. Oguta was used to declaration of result without election but the people have decided to change the tide for the better. It will be recalled that the Traducers of Oguta never campaigned and never printed any poster but would come and shoot guns and thumb print ballot papers and result will be declared. This shows the level of awareness since the emergence of Owelle Rochas Okorocha as the Governor of IMO State.

The question on everybody's lips is will the people of Oguta continue to stay without a representative in the House for selfish and political ego of people claiming to be political Irokos when they cannot even claim loyalty from their family members for their injustice and impunity.

The prologue of Oguta drama has APGA polling 9584 votes against PDP's 7, 583 with impunity, one wonders what the epilogue brings forth, which will either tarnish the little integrity remaineth of INEC and their runners.

Eating After 8 p.m.: What it Does to Your Metabolism
We have all heard the warning of never eating after 8 p.m. or you’ll gain weight. But this may not actually be the case — your metabolism doesn’t actually shut down at night. (Your metabolism doesn’t even know how to tell time.) So really, the key to weight loss mostly just comes down to the basics of calories-in versus calories-out.
And while some experts are still at odds over the research, there are some definite benefits to halting the habit of nighttime snacking, especially when trying to lose weight.
The thing is, most people hit their daily caloric intake requirements by dinner, so having a set time to stop eating might stop you from consuming more than you should. This also keeps you from committing the ultimate sin that ruins all diets: eating out of boredom!
But, if you plan (key word being plan) your total caloric intake to be reached later than your dinner meal, you should still have no issues maintaining or losing weight, as long as you consume only the calories needed for the day.
That being said, it’s incredibly important to pay attention to what exactly you’re eating after 8 p.m. You definitely do not want to eat any form of carbohydrates late at night because it will only add to the glycogen stores in your body, keeping you from going into fat burn while you’re asleep.
Wait — burning fat while you sleep?
Through a complicated process, your liver will actually use up all the glycogen in your body to regulate your blood-sugar levels. So it moves on to something else: body fat.
So, if a nighttime snack is just something you don’t feel you can let go of, be sure to make good food choices like lean proteins, vegetables and healthy fats instead of ice cream, cookies and cake.
Another option: Before you reach for that snack, create the habit of making a nightly cup of herbal hot tea. Not only can herbal tea soothe and calm you (which is helpful in preparing for bed), but it’s also been known to curb cravings and hunger. Try out different options such as chamomile, lemon or caffeine-free green tea.
If all else fails, brush your teeth! (After a good, cleansing minty brushing, nothing you eat will taste delicious enough to keep eating.)
With your newfound knowledge and resolve, consider this new nighttime eating routine that should help lead you to success:
