60 PROJECTS SET FOR COMMISSIONING IN IMO STATE

The Imo state government has concluded plans to commission 60 social projects scattered across the state by the end of this month.
This is under the 60/40 programme of the government, aimed at improving health care services in the rural areas.
Governor Okorocha announced this as part of resolution at the end of a meeting with the millennium development goal project coordinator in Imo state, Mrs. Nma Nzeribe.
The governor said the project which is under the MDGs include primary health centers, Emergency flood shelter buildings and community health centers.
He noted that the projects which would be equipped in line with global standard would be handed over to the various communities through the Community Government Council (CGC), stressing that these would make communities active participants in the affairs that concerns them.
Owelle Rochas Okorocha urged contractors handling some of these projects to expedite action to ensure completion of the project within the stipulated time.
He maintained that the present administration was determined to pursue all projects designed to improve the lives of the people especially at the grass root, and advised benefitting communities to guard the projects in their domain with care in their overall interest, and report to government any deviation.
