The wife of Imo State Governor has promised to build two hundred and seventy houses for the indigent Imo Widows through her pet project, She Needs Roof Project' (SNARP) while observing that essence of living is to put a smile on those who have forgotten what smile is all about.Meanwhile, the Deputy Governor of IMO State Prince Eze Madumere who also represented the Governor during the event in Ogboko pledged to support the wife of the Governor by building four of the buildings for the widows in Mbaitoli Local Government and two in Ogboko South Local Government. He however extolled IMO First Lady's effort which he said was possible for her hardworking and absolute belief in the efficacy of prayer and faith in God. IMO second citizen said SNARP is in line with Rescue Mission Programme to impact positively on the lives of the downtrodden and the poorest of the poor while calling on well meaning Nigerians to encourage such worthy projects with their resources.The earlier in the day's event marks the end of second phase of 'She Needs A Roof Programme' SNARP, and the beginning of the third phase of a pet project of the wife of IMO State Governor, Nneoma Nkechi Okorocha, which was celebrated amid fanfare by women groups, the corporate bodies, politicians and other well meaning Nigerians at Ogboko, Ideato South Local Government of IMO State.The last two recipients of the two bedroom apartments each fully furnished in Ideato South are two widows, Mrs. Felicia Emede and Mrs. Mabel Okwara. She Needs A Roof is Nneoma Okorocha's pet project to ameliorate the sufferings of the widows and their children by providing them with a comfortable furnished two bedroom apartments coupled with financial empowerment to start a business. THE SNARP project has so far provided thirty tastefully furnished two bedroom apartments for thirty widows in twenty seven local Government of IMO State with the requisite empowerment for their survival.In support of the wife of the Governor in continuation of the life changing project for the widows and their children, about fifty million naira was realized through free will donations by politicians, well meaning Citizens, Corporate bodies with Zenith Bank Fidelity Banks leading the pack.The high point of the programme was when member IMO State House of Assembly representing Isiala Mbano said that most donors were present to lobby for political appointment. In the characteristic manner of the trio, Hon. Simeon Iwunze, Hon. Samuel Anyanwu and mEme in absentia, in support of the wife of the Governor's wife charity work, they made a donation of one million naira.In a pathetic and tears shedding speech, the two recipients Mama Felicia and Mabel narrated how they ha suffered in rains and sun where they had as a roof scattered and leaking thatched roofs. They narrated years of gruesome pain and sickness for exposure to the cold. They said they never believed they could remembered someday by anybody to wipe away their tears. In soul touching words, she prayed for God's abundance blessing to the Governor and his wife while asserting that they no longer break down at the change of the weather for the rains of shine.Over fifty million naira was realized from individual donations and friends and corporate bodies where Zenith and Fidelity Banks topped the charts of donors.Uche OnwuchekwaCPS to Deputy Governor of IMO State
