GOVT TO GIVE NEW CITY STATUS TO URUALLA














Imo state government has concluded plans to accord New City status to Urualla in Ideato North LGA to fast- track development in the area.
The state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha disclosed this when
stakeholders and traditional rulers from the area paid him a
solidarity visit in government house Owerri.
The governor said that town planners have been deployed to work in the area to produce a master plan for the development of Urualla city.
On electricity, he said that government is changing the low grade high
tension transmission to a higher and qualitative one that will serve the
industrial need of the place.
While thanking the people for appreciating his numerous people oriented
programmes, Gov. Okorocha pointed out that the passion to make Imo better is the driving force behind his performance and not to get re-elected.
Speaking earlier, the spokesman for the people, Engr. Emma Eze Onyeasi
said that they were in government house on a solidarity visit to
the governor who is their  maternal son for his giant strides and numerous
achievements within 2 years in office.
He regretted poor quality of work done by the contractors handling the
roads in the area and appealed to him to prevail on them to
conclude the work on time as well as deliver quality job.
