The imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called on
traditional rulers in the state to respect the rule of law for peace
and development to reign in their various communities.
The governor made the call while presenting staff of office and
certificates recognition to the new traditional rulers that emerged following the intervention of the governor on ezeship crisis that has engulf some communities.
Governor Okorocha, who described their emergence as the result of the
peoples choice and desire, urged them to make equity, fair play and
justice their watch word.
He maintained that government will not rest on its oars until all
ezeship tussle in various communities are settled.
In her speech, the commissioner for Community Government, Barr. Lady
Nnanna Okoro commended the governor for settling ezeship tussles in
communities, pointing out that there will be no meaningful development in a community where there is no peace.
In his vote of thanks, Eze Barr. Anthony Onu thanked the governor for
his transparency in the resolution of the disputes that brought them as
traditional rulers, and promised to use their positions to bring peace
in their various communities.
